Your goal is full bloom: open all five patches and raise the lantern and bell to level 10. The bar above the improvements shows your progress, and your time is saved when you get there. You can keep selling afterward.
While you are away, or the tab is in the background, patches keep growing, crops dry into the basket and customers keep buying, for up to four hours. Pausing from the toolbar freezes the clearing instead.
