Cozy Idle
Mushroom Market Idle
Five patches. One basket. Pick them fresh or let them dry.
What you do
Mushroom Market Idle is a woodland clearing with five soil patches and a little market stall. Five kinds of mushroom visibly sprout, grow and ripen, from buttoncaps to glowing starcaps, and rabbits, mice, foxes and hedgehogs wander up to the stall to buy them. Pick them while they glow for full price, or leave them and they dry into the basket by themselves at half the price. Acorns buy new patches with rarer mushrooms, a lantern that speeds up growth and a bell that brings more customers, on the way to full bloom; then you can try to get there faster in a new clearing. Your clearing saves on this device.
How to play
- Tap a glowing, ripe patch to pick three fresh mushrooms into the basket.
- The ring on a ripe patch shows how long it stays fresh. Miss it and the mushrooms dry into the basket by themselves at half price.
- Customers visit the stall every few seconds and buy up to three of the most valuable mushrooms in the basket.
- The basket holds 12. When it is full, ripe patches wait until a customer makes room.
- Spend acorns on a new patch (the jar), faster growth (the lantern) or more customers (the bell).
- Your goal is full bloom: open all five patches and raise the lantern and bell to level 10. The bar above the improvements shows your progress, and your time is saved when you get there. You can keep selling afterward.
- While you are away, or the tab is in the background, patches keep growing, crops dry into the basket and customers keep buying, for up to four hours. Pausing from the toolbar freezes the clearing instead.
Controls
- Mouse or touch: tap a ripe patch to pick it, tap the glowing price on an empty patch to open it, tap an upgrade to buy it.
- Keyboard: 1 to 5 pick patches, Tab to any button and press Enter or Space.
- Shared toolbar: pause, restart with confirmation, sound, instructions and fullscreen.
Tips worth knowing
- Fresh mushrooms sell for double, so pick them when you are watching.
- Early on, customers are the bottleneck. The bell is usually the best first buy.
- Rarer mushrooms take longer to grow but are worth far more, so new patches pay off.
- Customers take the most valuable mushrooms first, so cheap dried ones can sit in the basket. Keep an eye on space.
- When the basket is nearly full, pick the most valuable ripe patch first. A basket full of buttoncaps slows the whole market and your road to full bloom.
Accessibility
- No failure states: missed mushrooms still reach the basket.
- Every patch and upgrade is a real button with a spoken label for its state and cost.
- Ripe patches glow and show a countdown ring, so color is not the only signal.
- Pause freezes growth and customers.
Questions
Does Mushroom Market Idle work while I am away?
Yes, for up to four hours, whether you close the page or leave it in a background tab. Patches keep growing, crops dry into the basket and customers keep buying. Everything picked while away counts as dried. Pausing from the toolbar freezes the clearing instead.
Is there an ending?
Yes. Full bloom means all five patches are open and the lantern and bell are at level 10. It takes about 25 to 40 minutes of active picking, a card shows your time, and your best time is kept. You can keep selling in the same clearing, or restart for a new one.
What happened to my old market?
The first time you open the new clearing, your acorns, the varieties you had unlocked and your growth and customer upgrades carry over. The old save is left untouched on your device.
