What you do

Cat Nap Hotel is one busy night in a painted cat lounge. Sleepy guests wait at the front desk, each dreaming of one particular bed: the window basket, the green sofa, the high shelf, the moon alcove and more. Tuck a cat into a bed and it curls up for a nap, then pays in purrs when it wakes. New guests keep arriving faster until dawn, and every cat you tuck into its favorite bed joins your guest book.

How to play

1. Press Open the hotel. Sleepy cats arrive at the desk, each with a picture of the bed it wants.
2. Drag a cat onto that bed in the hotel. You can also tap the cat, then tap the bed.
3. Favorite bed: 100 purrs, plus 10 more for each perfect nap in a row, up to +100. The badge in the corner of the hotel shows your streak and what the next perfect nap pays. Any other free bed: 40 purrs, the cat naps a little longer and the streak starts over.
4. Cats pay when they wake up, which frees the bed for the next guest.
5. Waiting cats lose patience. If a cat gives up and goes home, you lose one of three hearts. Lose all three and the hotel closes early.
6. Reach dawn to earn 100 purrs for every heart left. Every cat that gets its favorite bed joins your guest book.

Controls

• Mouse or touch: drag a waiting cat onto a bed, or tap the cat and then the bed.
• Keyboard: 1 to 4 choose a waiting cat, Tab to a bed, then Enter or Space. Escape clears your choice.
• Shared toolbar: pause, restart, sound, instructions and fullscreen. Pausing freezes the night, patience and naps.

Tips worth knowing

• If a cat's favorite bed is taken and its patience bar is turning red, use any free bed. A cat who goes home grumpy ends your streak anyway and costs a heart as well.
• A long streak is worth protecting late in the night: after ten perfect naps in a row, every perfect nap pays 200 purrs.
• Short napper? Biscuit wakes quickly, so the high shelf frees up often.
• Two cats can love the same bed. Watch for them arriving together.
• The big cream bed is nobody's favorite until late in the night, which makes it a handy spare early on.
• Your guest book carries over between nights, so each night is a chance to meet the cats you have missed.

Accessibility

• This is a timed game: waiting cats have patience bars and the night has a clock. The toolbar pause freezes both at any time.
• Every waiting cat and bed is a real button with a spoken label naming the cat and the bed it wants.
• Dragging is optional. Tapping a cat and then a bed, or keyboard play, works everywhere.
• Patience bars change length as well as color.
