Privacy policy

Updated October 18, 2026.

CozyWorld is operated from the United Kingdom by a sole trader using the trading name CozyWorld. The site is intended for adult players, primarily in the United States. Privacy enquiries and requests can be sent to hello@cozyworld.games.

CozyWorld is built for simple, low-friction play. You can browse the site and play our cozy browser games without creating an account, posting comments, making purchases, or submitting a public score. The one exception is the CozyWorld village, which saves your character on our server under a guest account with no name, email or password.

Our hosting provider may process basic request information needed to deliver pages, protect the site, and keep games available. Games may store basic preferences, saved scores, or progress in your browser so they can work between visits.

CozyWorld does not load advertising scripts or Google Analytics. It counts visits with cookie-free Cloudflare Web Analytics, described below. Affiliate links may send you to a third-party site with a tracking parameter so CozyWorld can receive a commission from qualifying purchases. These links are labeled, are optional, and are not part of game instructions.

Google advertising

No ads are shown on CozyWorld today. CozyWorld may show Google AdSense ads in the future, but it is not approved to show them yet. AdSense ownership verification uses a meta tag and an ads.txt record. These do not load Google's advertising scripts, set advertising cookies or display ads.

If advertising is switched on later, Google and the ad partners it works with would use cookies or similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure them and protect against fraud, and, only with your permission where the law requires it, to personalize them using your visits to this and other sites. Before that happens, visitors in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area and Switzerland will be asked for their choices through a Google-certified consent tool, saying no will be as easy as saying yes, and every game will keep working whatever you choose. Ads would stay off game screens, game controls and pages without content of their own. This policy will be updated to describe the actual data use before any ad is shown. Google explains its services in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, and you can manage Google ad personalization at any time in My Ad Center.

Website analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which games people play. It doesn't set cookies or use local storage, and Cloudflare says it doesn't fingerprint visitors or track them across other websites. For each visit it records information like the page you viewed, the website that linked you here, your country, your browser and device type, and how quickly the page loaded. We only see totals, never individual visitors. It loads only after you scroll, tap, type or move the pointer, and it doesn't run if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. Game scores and progress are never sent to it.

Google Analytics is currently disabled. Its scripts, analytics cookies and cookieless measurement pings are not used by this version of the site. Local game scores and progress are not sent to Google.

Earlier versions used Google Analytics. Existing analytics cookies may remain in your browser, but the analytics code that uses them is no longer loaded. You can remove cookies in your browser's settings. Clearing all site data also removes game saves; the cookie policy explains the difference.

You can read more about local browser storage, analytics cookies and affiliate links in our cookie policy.

AI games

Some games let you describe an idea or ask a question in your own words, and an AI model from Anthropic reads it. These games always work without typing too: their cards, menus and other controls are complete on their own, and the typing option only appears while the AI service is switched on. When you send typed text, CozyWorld's own server removes email addresses, phone numbers and links from it, then sends it to Anthropic with the game's fixed instructions. Your IP address, cookies and any account details are not sent to Anthropic. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models by default. Please leave names, addresses and other personal details out of what you type.

CozyWorld's server does not store or log the text you type or the AI's reply. To keep costs and abuse in check it keeps anonymous counters: a random session number with the game, how many typed turns it used and what they cost, deleted a day after the session ends; and per-visitor rate limits keyed by a one-way scrambled form of your network address that changes every day, deleted within an hour of that day ending. Nothing about typed turns is stored in your browser: the session number lives only in the open page, and game saves keep the result, not your words.

The CozyWorld village

The CozyWorld village is a 3D game where you keep a cottage, a garden and coins between visits. To save that progress, entering the village for the first time creates a guest account on CozyWorld's server. It has no email address, password or real name: the game knows you only by a random number and the name you pick from its preset lists.

If you choose Keep with a passkey in the village's Settings, your phone, computer or password manager makes a passkey for your character and keeps its private part; it never leaves your device or password manager. The server keeps the passkey's public key and ID, a use counter, what kind of passkey it is (whether it syncs, how your device reaches it, and the model number your password manager reports), when it was made, and your character's name, so your password manager can label it. Signing in with that passkey on another device brings back the same character; on a device whose own guest character has no passkey, the game asks first, and that guest character is deleted. Passkeys are deleted with your character.

For each character the server keeps the chosen name, color and look; the pet you adopted, if any (its kind, coat, name from a preset list, collar and the day it came home); your cottage, furniture, garden, coins and items; the tasks you have done and what you gave the town project and its festivals; the noticeboard requests you have done, with your stamps and prizes; your friendship with each resident and the letters they send you; the flowers and colors you have found for your collection book; what you brought to your village's weekly orders; which days you played; and what the village residents remember about you, such as how often you have talked and the chores you have helped with. To keep actions from counting twice and to cap AI use, it also keeps short-lived records, deleted after seven days or sooner. It does not store your IP address or browser details with your account. New guest accounts are limited per network address by Cloudflare, in counters that are not saved.

Signing in uses one cookie, __Secure-cozyworld-world.session_token. It is strictly necessary for the game to find your character, is sent only to the village's pages at /world/, cannot be read by page scripts, and lasts up to 400 days, renewed once a day while you play, or until you sign out. While you make or use a passkey, a second strictly necessary cookie holds the one-time challenge for a few minutes. The village keeps sound and graphics settings in your browser's local storage.

You can share your village with up to five friends. Each village has an invite code of six letters, and anyone who types a code in the game sees the character name of the village's founder and how many houses are taken before choosing to move in. If you enter without an invite, you move into an open village with other players who did the same, up to six in all, and they see the same things about you as friends in a village do. To pick an open village whose calendar day starts near yours, the server compares the time zone your browser reports (already kept to set your village's day) with each village's. An open village has no founder, your cottage there starts on knock first, and you can make the village your own or move to a village of your own at any time. If you have not played for 30 days, you move from an open village to a village of your own, with your cottage, garden and things, so that your house can go to someone new; the server keeps the time of that move until your next visit, when the game tells you about it. Someone living alone in a village of their own is asked once whether to move into an open village; the browser remembers that it asked. Players in the same village see each other's character names, colors, looks, pets and gardens and work on the same town project, festivals and weekly orders; the noticeboard shows how many things each of them brought to the week's order. While you are playing, the friends in your village who are playing too see where you walk or row the village's boat, the emotes you send, and whether you are at home; this is passed on as it happens and not stored. Friends in your village can also visit your cottage and see how its rooms are furnished. You choose whether they may walk in any time or must knock first; a knock is passed to you if you are playing, and neither the knock nor your answer is stored. You can block a friend, which hides them from you and stops their emotes, knocks and visits reaching you; the server keeps the block, and it is deleted with either character. To stop codes from being guessed, the server keeps the wrong codes you try for a day. When the last player moves out of a village, it is kept for 30 days in case someone comes back, then deleted with its project and festival records.

Photo postcards are made entirely in your browser. The picture, its caption and the card are drawn on your own device, and the picture is never sent to CozyWorld's server. Sharing one uses your device's own share sheet, and saving one downloads it to your device; the invite link goes in the message you send, not on the picture. If you pin a postcard to your village's scrapbook, only its message side is sent and kept: the place it greets from and the caption and stamp from the game's lists, shown with your character's name to everyone in your village on the noticeboard. You can take it down at any time, and it is deleted with your character.

The "Built by" plaques at your village's finished town projects and its scrapbook show the character names of the neighbors who helped and what the village did together (such as a festival or the first fish caught). They are made from the game's own records, show no one you have blocked, and drop a character once it is deleted.

You can talk to the residents by tapping what to say, or by typing. Their lines may be reworded by an AI model from Anthropic, as in the AI games above. What is sent is the resident's character, facts about the town and a summary of your time in the village; your account number, cookie and IP address are not sent. If you type, CozyWorld's server removes contact details and links from your words before they are sent, and never stores them. Please leave personal details out of what you type. Letters from the residents may also be worded by the AI model, from what the letter is for (such as what you brought a resident or their birthday) and the resident's character; the letter's words are kept with it until you delete your character.

To delete your character, open the village's Settings and choose Delete my character. This removes your account, cottage, garden, coins and everything the residents remember about you, right away and for good. Items you gave the town project, a festival or a weekly order stay in the village's totals without any link to you, and if nobody else lives in your village, it is deleted 30 days later. If you clear your browser's cookies first, the game can no longer connect you to that character, and because it holds no contact details, it cannot be traced back to you. A character nobody has visited for 400 days is deleted the same way, automatically, once its sign-in has expired.

Support messages

If you email us, we receive your address and the information you include so we can respond to your request. Please do not send passwords, payment details or game data you do not want to share. Clearing browser data removes local game saves but does not delete an email you have sent us; contact us about that separately.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask for access, correction, deletion, objection, or a copy of personal information handled by CozyWorld. Apart from the village's guest accounts, which you can delete yourself as described above, ordinary play data stays in your own browser storage and can be cleared through your browser settings.

Questions about privacy can be sent to hello@cozyworld.games. If you believe your data-protection concerns have not been resolved, you can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
