Cozy Puzzle
Cozy Lighthouse Keeper
Three channels. One beam. A whole harbor waiting for your light.
What you do
Cozy Lighthouse Keeper puts you in charge of one small lighthouse and three channels of night sea. Each tide you sweep the beam down one channel, lighting every boat in it, while the rest of the fleet sails one space closer to the shore. Boats waiting on the horizon show what the next tide brings, so you can plan which boats to finish first and when one flash can bring a whole fleet home. A night lasts 20 tides and the sky turns to dawn as it goes. Two stars open the next, busier night, and the sea waits while you think.
- Every night has a route that brings every boat home.
- A results card at dawn with stars, boats home, score and best fleet.
How to play
- Choose Take the night watch to begin.
- Tap a channel to flash it: every boat in that channel gets one light. On a wide screen the channels are North, Middle and South; on a phone held upright they are West, Middle and East.
- Fill a boat's light dots to guide it home. Each boat home earns 20 points plus 10 per light it asked for.
- After each flash, every other boat sails one space toward the shore. A boat at the red buoy is on its last turn: finish it now or it runs aground and does not count. A boat labeled Too far can no longer make it.
- Watch the horizon for the boats that arrive next tide. Guiding several boats home with one flash earns 20 extra points per extra boat, and rescues on back-to-back tides add a streak bonus of up to 20.
- After 20 tides, bring at least 70% of the boats home for one star, 85% for two or every boat for three. The Boats home bar marks each star.
- Two stars open the next night, which brings more boats and bigger requests. The title screen lets you pick any night you have opened and shows its best stars.
Controls
- Touch or mouse: tap anywhere in a channel to flash it.
- Keyboard: press 1, 2 or 3 to flash a channel. Arrow keys move between channels, and Enter or Space flashes the one in focus.
- Top toolbar: pause, replay the current night, mute, or read the instructions.
Tips worth knowing
- Count each boat's lights against its spaces. A boat needing two more lights with two spaces left cannot wait another turn.
- One flash can finish several boats. Two one-light boats in the same channel earn 80 points together, before any streak bonus.
- Check the horizon before choosing a channel. A new boat may be worth grouping with one already waiting.
- Do not spend flashes on a boat labeled Too far. Light the boats that can still make it.
- Two stars usually come from finishing the boat nearest the buoy first. Three stars on busy nights need you to look a few tides ahead.
Accessibility
- Whole channels are large touch targets, with keyboard shortcuts, arrow-key focus and visible focus rings.
- Boats show their needs with both dots and words, and each channel button reads out its boats for screen readers; color and sound are never required.
- The tide only moves after your action, and reduced-motion settings shorten the animations and turn off bobbing and sparkles.
Questions
What happens to a boat that misses its last turn?
It runs gently aground on the rocks at the end of its channel and does not count toward your night. Nobody is hurt, and the night carries on through all 20 tides.
Does Cozy Lighthouse Keeper save progress?
Your best score, the nights you have opened, and each night's best stars and score save locally in your browser. A night lasts about two to five minutes; an unfinished night does not resume after reloading. This is a turn-based puzzle, with no offline earnings.
Does the game get harder?
Yes. Night 1 is calm. Each night you finish with two stars opens the next, and later nights bring more boats at once with more of them asking for three lights. From the sixth night on, the harbor stays at its busiest. You can go back to any night you have opened.
